The Himalayan Elders Project extends its heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors for making this memorable outing possible!

A big thank you to the Dolkar Foundation (TP Decorating) for sponsoring our van rentals, Tibet Pho Woodstock for providing delicious lunch and snacks, and KTD Woodstock for welcoming us as our host temple.

We are also deeply grateful to our dedicated volunteers— including Pema, Tenzin Norbu, and Karma Drukya—who took time off work to drive the vans and support our elders. Thank you all for making this day so special!

Today we will visit Karma Triyana Dharma Chakra center in Woodstock, followed by delicious lunch at Tibet Pho. The afternoon program is reserved for Gorshey (circle dance), games, unlimited snacks and Tibetan tea at Tibet Pho. We would like to thank Dolkar Foundation for sponsoring the van rentals, Tibet Pho for meals and snacks and KTD for hosting us. Thank you very much.

Since 2012, the Himalayan Elders Project has been the first and largest nonprofit serving Tibetan and Himalayan seniors in New York. 3 days a week for the past 13+ years and still running strong.

13+ years. 290,000+ free meals. 250+ elders cared for every year. Across New York, India, and Nepal.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every dollar goes back to our elders — their meals, their wellness, their dignity.

We were the first to answer this call, and we’re still here — rooted in our community, honoring the elders who raised us. 🙏

We're honored to share that Phurbu Tsering — owner and master chef of Pho Tibet Restaurant in New Paltz and Woodstock — will be joining us at this year's Elders Picnic on Friday and Saturday, donating his time and talent entirely pro bono. Working alongside our own cook, Phurbu-la will help make sure our seniors are served the very best food this year. We're deeply grateful to Phu-Tsering for his generosity and selfless service to our community.
