Please read all the information below.
Due to the recent dry weather and multiple brush fires plaguing North Pocono and Lackawanna County … yesterday, many of the North Pocono Fire Chiefs came together with multiple other Fire Chiefs in Lackawanna County to request a County Wide Burn Ban. This information was sent to the Lackawanna County EMA. Lackawanna County EMA is working with the Pinchot State Forest Fire Warden and our County elected officials to get a Resolution passed in County Government to have this burn ban. Due to this process needing time to take effect, we kindly ask … Do not do any outdoor burning until we get some much needed rain.
Also, your municipalities might already have burn bans in effect. Please think about your safety and everyone’s safety before burning or even discarding ci******es.
Thank you,
North Pocono Fire and Rescue Association
