Elmhurst Children's Theatre Elmhurst Children's Theatre (ECT) is dedicated to serving the children of Elmhurst by providing a unique experience in all aspects of live theatre.

ECT proudly continues the tradition of its founders, bringing the Elmhurst Area community together to enjoy high quality productions and enriching the lives of children through the performing arts. ECT stages two to three productions each year, hiring professional directors and relying on parent volunteers to manage productions and rehearsals, create costumes and sets. Once sponsored by Elmhurst's PTA Council, ECT now is entirely self-supporting through participation fees, class tuition and ticket sales. Children in 5th through 8th grade who attend District 205 schools or attend parochial schools in Elmhurst may audition for ECT productions. Classes are offered throughout the year for children in 1st through 8th grades.

🐾🗞️ Why don’t you see 45 kids dressed as Newsies running around Elmhurst on their way to and from the show? 👀

Because they’re wearing ANIMALS! 🐻🐰🦊 Our talented cast wears animal costumes inspired by their favorite animals and characters over a base layer of tank tops and bike shorts to keep their show costumes clean, fresh, and wrinkle-free! 🎭✨

It’s just one of the behind-the-scenes tricks that helps our performers stay show-ready! ❤️
