She didn't just hear her song tonight. She sang it.

Veteran Staci Boyer took the stage with Steve Dean and performed "I Have a Voice" and proved exactly what that title means.

Chills. The whole room had chills.

That is what Freedom Sings USA makes possible. That is what healing looks like.

"Every road's got a story to tell."

Tonight that line belonged to veteran Donald J. Bozzi. Nashville songwriter Bill DiLuigi knows what it means to serve — and tonight he used that understanding to give Donald's story its song. A room full of people in Elmhurst were honored to listen.

Thank you both.

One veteran. One songwriter.

One song that an entire community in Elmhurst got to witness together tonight.

This is what Freedom Sings USA makes possible. This is why we're here.

Thank you Will Nance and David Gils.

Tonight Bill Whyte and veteran Christine Seagrace showed our community something important.

That sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer someone who has served isn't a parade or a ceremony, it's someone sitting down, truly listening, and saying: your story deserves to be heard.

Thank you both. Tonight mattered.

Marcus J. Simonet fought for peace.
Tonight, Bobby Tomberlin gave that fight a melody.

Watching a veteran hear their own story sung back to them, there are no words for what that feels like in a room full of people.

This is the power of music. This is the power of community.
Thank you, Marcus. Thank you, Bobby.

The songs are written. Tonight they come alive.

Last night veterans spent the evening with Grammy-winning Nashville songwriters, hearing the stories behind some of country music's most beloved songs. How they were written. What inspired them. The funny ones. The famous ones.

And then something natural happened. Songwriters and veterans found each other. Started talking. And those conversations are becoming original songs performed live tonight for the very first time.

You can still be in that room. Tickets available at the door.

📍 Tonight | 7:00 pm | American Legion, 310 W. Butterfield Rd, Elmhurst
