Finally getting around to doing a formal introduction of our newest (and smallest) resident!

09/16/2026

Trip, Trouble and Trooper have been with us for about 2 weeks now and they are learning so much. Aside from learning basic obedience skills, leash manners and going on adventures, they are learning how to coexist with all kinds of animals here on the farm. To me, that is such an important skill for a dog to have!

Every day these guys spend time around birds, cats, horses and other livestock. Teaching them how to do so while they are young sets them up with a solid foundation to build on for the future and I truly believe that being able to live with other animals is something that brings more opportunity for a dog to get adopted. So, here’s everyone after feeding last night, old dogs, young dogs, turkey that thinks it’s a dog and even Splat, who is basically a giant dog. 🤪

Trip’s first horse show! He walked, he ate snacks, he made friends and he napped. All of the ingredients of a good day, he will definitely sleep good tonight.

Exposure is so important for these puppies and in my opinion a horse show is one of the best places to do that. There are people, noises, dogs, horses and so much opportunity for learning. Trip was such a good boy!

Between the zero turn being broken and all of the rain we had last week, the dog yard was looking a little crazy. Finally had time to clean up this morning and the mower jumped into the first hole it saw…

The mower was rescued, the yard was finished and the dogs can get started on digging the next one. Mission accomplished.🤙🏻

Finally have a minute to make a formal introduction of the newest BDU students - Trip, Trouble and Trooper! These 3 siblings were surrendered to us last week, they were an accidental litter (8 in total) and due to the owner going through a few life changes she needed to find a better situation for the dogs. We were able to take in these 3 and when they are ready they will be available for adoption! If you’d like to make a tax deductible donation towards their upcoming vet visits or if you would like to donate puppy supplies (food, toys, treats, puppy pads, etc.) click the link in our bio - anything and everything is so appreciated. ❤️

We wanted to see if we could get Gus to “gobble” so we played turkey noises and sure enough…lol

I think Oopsie and Daisy were a bit confused 😅
