NATIONAL WILDLIFE DAY

A day that was created to spread awareness for the wildlife around us and conservation efforts. Camp is lucky to be set in the heart of the Flint Hills. Where less than 4% of the Tallgrass Prairie remains today.

Spend some time today outside, whether you go on a nature hike, go bird watching or spend some time inside learning more about the wildlife & ecosystems around you!

Behind every one of those moments was a person who made it possible.

To our Summer 2026 staff: thank you for showing up, giving your energy, sharing your talents, caring deeply, and creating a place where thousands of campers could Be You. Be Adventurous. Belong.

You gave a piece of yourselves to this summer, and Camp Wood is better because you were here.

The cabins may be quiet again, but your impact went home with every camper you served.

This summer was yours, too. Thank you.

We had some rain and storms move through camp this morning, with everyone staying safely inside until they passed

We’ll continue to monitor the weather and make adjustments to today’s activities and programming as needed. Everyone is safe, having fun, and ready to make the most of our last full day together!

WEEK NINE - Wednesday

Wednesday at Camp was all about making the most of every moment. From quiet time with a good book to learning at the barn, creating friendship bracelets, riding the skate park, spending time on the waterfront, and making memories with cabin mates, there was something for everyone.

WEEK NINE- Tuesday

Tuesday was packed with adventure! From the football field and skate park to the lake, art projects, campfires, and plenty of laughs along the way, campers made the most of every moment. Every activity was another chance to try something new, build friendships, and create memories that will last long after the summer ends.

WEEK NINE - Monday

Monday was one for the books! Campers spent the day trying new activities, making new friends, and enjoying everything Camp Wood has to offer. Whether they were aiming for the bullseye, casting a line, creating something new, or making memories with their cabin, it was a great start to another amazing week.
