💎 Ordinary rocks. Amazing surprises!

This week, our Trailblazer Kids cracked open geodes to discover the sparkling beauty hidden inside! We learned to look beyond the outside—in rocks AND in people—remembering that each of us is made in God’s image and loved by God.

🧶❤️ Next Sunday, October 25, our adventure gets colorful! With yarn, a frame, and plenty of creativity, each child will make a colorful heart while we explore Jesus’ words: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

We’ll discover how our hands, words, and everyday choices can share God’s love. Come create something awesome and continue the journey with us!

This Sunday, we’re pleased to welcome guest pastor Pastor Ron Kral to Community UMC!

His message, “A Tale of Two Kingdoms,” draws from Matthew 22:15–22, where a question about a coin becomes a deeper conversation about what we owe to God. What does Jesus’ answer mean for the way we live today?

Join us for worship at 9:30 a.m. as we explore this story together. Whether Community is your church home or you’re visiting for the first time, there’s a place for you here!

Little hands. Big hearts. Shoeboxes filled with love. ❤️🎁

Last Sunday, Community UMC’s Trailblazers Kids put our lesson into action: **God gives, we care, we share.**

Using gifts collected at Vacation Bible School and items families brought in, we packed Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, thoughtfully choosing gifts for each child and adding cards about ourselves. Along the way, we discovered that giving fills our hearts, too—and even a little gift can carry a whole lot of love. ❤️

⛏️ This Sunday, our adventure heads underground! We’ll mine for special stones and discover that the outside doesn’t tell the whole story. In stones—and in people—**it’s what’s on the inside that counts.**

Pause. Walk. Reflect.

Take a little time for yourself this week. Community UMC’s indoor labyrinth is open to the public October 11–18, offering a quiet space to slow down, pray, reflect, or simply breathe.

A labyrinth is a single winding path that you follow at your own pace. No experience is needed—just come as you are. All are welcome!

Monday–Friday: 8am–4pm
Sunday: 8am–12pm
Enter through the church office.

There’s a place for you at the table. ❤️

This Sunday, join us for **Open Invitation** as we explore Matthew 22:1–5; 8–9. From a biblical banquet to the tables we gather around today, Jesus’ parable invites us to consider how we respond to God’s welcome—and how we extend that welcome to others.

Come as you are. Bring a friend. Let’s grow in faith together.

🚒 Taking Fire Safety Week to New Heights!

Our Mother’s Day Out preschool continued one of our favorite traditions this week with a visit from Elm Grove’s first responders! It’s always an awesome time for everyone at Community UMC and Mother’s Day Out.

This year’s special bucket riders—Pastor Tim, MDO Director Tracey, and MDO Assistant Director Amanda—were lifted more than 100 feet into the air in the Elm Grove Fire Department’s bucket truck. Talk about a whole new view of Community! 👀

Thank you to our fire, police, and EMS teams for helping us learn about safety and for caring for our community every day! ❤️

What does it mean to live a faith that truly bears fruit?
This Sunday, we’ll journey into the vineyard through Matthew 21:33–43, where Jesus tells a powerful story about what we’ve been given, how we care for it, and the fruit our lives are called to produce.
Come as you are and join us for worship, community, and a message that invites us to consider how our faith is growing—and what it might be producing in the world around us.

We are humbled. We are grateful. And honestly, we are blown away.

Our Community UMC Walk to End Alzheimer’s team is now **less than $300 away from reaching $10,000!**

$10,000. What an incredible gift that would be to the Alzheimer’s Association — and what a beautiful reflection of the generosity, love, and compassion of this community.

This Saturday, so many members and friends of Community UMC will walk together in honor of those we love, those we remember, those who are living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia, and the families and caregivers who walk alongside them every single day.

And now we have one more goal before we lace up our shoes.

**Can we reach $10,000 before Saturday?**

If you’ve been thinking about giving, consider making a donation today or tomorrow and helping us cross that finish line.

Or better yet — **come walk with us!** There is still time to join the Community UMC team and be part of this very special day.

Every gift matters. Every walker matters. Every step matters.

Let’s see if, together, we can give the Alzheimer’s Association an amazing **$10,000 surprise this Saturday.**

💌 **A little creativity can bring a whole lot of cheer!**

Our **Card Ministry** is gathering on **Monday, October 5 from 6:30–8:00 p.m.** to create Christmas cards for members of our church family and friends who could use a little extra encouragement this holiday season. 🎄❤️

You don’t need to be crafty or have any card-making experience—**all supplies are provided**, and there will be plenty of help and inspiration along the way!

Come enjoy a relaxed evening of creativity, conversation, and caring for others. And please **bring a friend**—everyone is welcome!

🚗 Park in the west parking lot and come right in.

Sometimes something as simple as a handmade card can remind someone that they are remembered, loved, and not alone. We’d love to have you help us spread a little Christmas cheer! 💌

🌲🥾 Children’s Chapel at Community UMC is back in session! 🧭

Each school year, our kids come together on Sunday mornings for faith, friendship, fun, and adventure. But this year, we’ve reimagined Children’s Chapel from the ground up—and we’re heading out on a whole new journey!

Welcome to Trailblazer Kids!

Each Sunday, our Trailblazers explore the same Scripture and themes Pastor Tim is sharing in the sanctuary, but in a way designed especially for kids—interactive, energetic, hands-on, and connected to the world they live in today.

And we listened to our kids! ❤️ We’ve heard what excites them, what gets them asking questions, and what makes them want to jump in and participate. So we’ve built a program filled with movement, creativity, experiments, challenges, games, conversation, and STEAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

Because the Bible isn't just something we want kids to hear about. We want them to explore it, experience it, ask questions about it, and discover how God’s Word connects to their lives.

🧭 Who leads the way?
Jesus leads the way!

🥾 And what do Trailblazers do?
Follow Jesus and help others find the way!

Come join the adventure at Community UMC!
