Friends of the International Club Friends and members of the International Club serving Ellwood City, Riverside and surrounding high schools.

Due to a second death in our family, the Friends of the International Club meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, is canceled. We will set another date very soon to share the calendar of events and monthly talks by the exchange students.

08/10/2021

Wednesday, September 15th, will be the first meeting of this year's Friends of the international Club. Come and meet our area exchange students! So far, we have Isaac from Spain, Aelia from France, Tonkow from Thailand, and Martin from the Czech Republic.

The meeting will be at Ewing Park at 6:00 p.m.

It is a get acquainted meeting, and the calendar for the year will be discussed. Join us!

Due to Covid, we will not have a potluck dinner as we always did in the past, but if you like, bring a snack and drinks for your family.

FLAG offers a referral of $100 to anyone who refers a family that results in placing a student. This is a great fundraising opportunity for a group - soccer boosters, church groups, even an individual!

Riverside has a new exchange student for the 2019-20 school. Her name is Sofya and she is from Kazakhstan.

Sofya will give her talk on Wednesday, December 11, at Riverside High School. Social time is in the cafeteria at 6:00, her talk will be in the library at 7 followed by a short meeting.

Bring a dish to share for social time (pot-luck) and your own beverage.

Jonas will give his talk about Germany on Tuesday, February 19. Social time at Riverside High School cafeteria 6-7 pm, library 7-8 pm. A short meeting with information about the upcoming Showcase will follow his talk. The International Showcase of Countries is scheduled for Thursday, March 7, at Riverside. Elwood will have their showcase on Friday, March 8.
