Our condolences go out to the family of Jack Hines. Jack was a lifetime member of the Ellsworth Funsters and first became involved with the club over 50 years ago when it was still known as the Jaycees.

For many years, Jack was the announcer for the Pierce County Demo Derby, a role that suited him perfectly. He had a gift for talking and always knew how to keep the crowd engaged.

Jack was also a regular at our meetings, often bringing forward information about families in need in the community. He truly cared about helping others and was always looking out for those around him.

During his final year announcing the Demo Derby, Jack surprised everyone by dressing up like a clown—something a little out of character for him—but he did it to give everyone a laugh and retire with a bang!

He will truly be missed.

Last weekend we held our annual ice fishing contest at Roger Nelson’s pond on County Road A. It was a beautiful 50 degree morning for some fishing and fun!

Tonight is the final night of T-Ball for the summer! It is a very warm summer night so bring lots of water to stay hydrated, and umbrellas to shade the sun if you wish. We will wrap up this season with a hot dog picnic after games are done tonight, sponsored by the Ellsworth Funsters!
