From Ellsworth to Maryland — The Journey of Hope Continues! 🌟

It all began at the Ellsworth Moose Lodge back in 2023, when Rob Scheer and his incredible volunteer Lesley Robinson introduced us to Comfort Cases — an organization dedicated to bringing hope and dignity to children entering foster care.

Inspired by their mission, Christie Foster and Lesley joined forces, and the Lodge came together to raise funds to include Tommy Moose plush toys in the Comfort Cases. 🧸💙

Now, we’re taking this amazing effort to the next level! 🚛✨
We’re launching a campaign to “Fill the Truck” — collecting Tommy Moose plushies to ship directly to the Comfort Cases distribution center in Maryland.

Every Tommy Moose packed and every Comfort Case filled means another child feels seen, valued, and loved. 💖

Stay tuned for details on how you can help us fill the truck and make a difference in the lives of children across the country. Together, we’re proving that small acts of kindness can create ripples of hope. 🌈

Meet Me at the Moose – Ellsworth 2698

Have you ever driven or walked by our lodge and wondered what really goes on behind those brick walls?

You’re not alone! Many people see a Moose lodge, but few know the heart and purpose inside — neighbors, friends, and volunteers working together to make a difference in our community.

Signage and messaging is crucial— “Bringing Community Together Doing Good.” Does this capture the essence of what the Moose is all about?

👉 What do you think about the look and wording?

I would love to hear your honest feedback — especially from our members across the Northeast. Your input helps us keep improving and spreading the word about who we are and what we do.

Thank you for taking a moment to share your thoughts and support!

The true issue with retention is education, it’s a member that joined but not educated by their sponsor. It is an individual that was looking for personal gain not a community. It is the culture of your lodge that changes this. Would this be the letter that could educate a member after the fact? Your lodge leadership needs to be education first focused and you will hopefully avoid this letter.

Dear Member,

Before you decide not to renew your Moose membership, we’d like to share a thought with you.

Sometimes a member walks away because of a personal disagreement. Maybe someone argued with you, didn’t treat you fairly, or left you feeling disrespected. Those moments are painful, but it’s important to remember — it wasn’t the Moose, or the children of Mooseheart, or the seniors of Moosehaven who hurt you. It was one individual. Don’t let a single conflict cause you to give up on the mission and the fellowship that truly matter.

Other times, someone joins the Moose for a single event — a gaming night, a darts tournament, or just a fun evening out. That’s a great way to discover us, but the Moose is more than just a one-time experience. Our purpose is greater: we support children, we care for seniors, and we build bonds that last a lifetime. If you leave after only that first event, you never get to experience the heart of who we are.

Your membership dues are not just another bill. They are an investment in lives touched, communities served, and in the blessings of Mooseheart and Moosehaven. They are also your connection to lodge activities, friendships, and the sense of belonging that extends far beyond one moment or one event.

So before you quit, take a step back and remember why you joined. Think about what you’d be walking away from, and what you’d be giving up — not just for yourself, but for the children and seniors who depend on the work we do together.

The Moose is not about applause or recognition. It is about purpose. And your membership matters more than you may realize.

Fraternally,
[Your Lodge Leadership]

🌟 The 2025 Heart of the Community Project for this Year’s Convention - September 25-28th🌟

The Heart of The Community project is our partnership between the Northeast Moose Association and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Together, we’re working to provide children in need with the gift of comfort and care.

We are asking all Lodges to donate twin bedding sets – including sheets, pillowcases, and comforters – to be brought to the convention in September. Your generosity will help ensure every child has a warm and welcoming bed to sleep in.

💙 We deeply appreciate every Lodge’s efforts and are looking forward to an amazing turnout at convention!

✨ Special Surprise! ✨
In addition to bedding, we are also collecting Tommy Moose dolls. These cuddly companions will be given to children during the bed builds, so each child not only has a cozy place to rest but also a comforting friend to sleep with – a reminder that the Moose is always thinking of children in need.

Let’s come together once again to make a lasting difference in the lives of kids across our communities. 🛏️ Please Make This An Amazing Showing!
