It's been years since T86 participated in a Scout Sunday service at 1st Congregational, our sponsoring organization. Maybe something to consider for 2026?

Scouting America designates the weekend that falls nearest February 8 (Scouting Anniversary Day) as Scouting Anniversary Weekend. However, each chartered organization or congregation can adopt a specific date within the house of worship’s calendar to celebrate. This is a great opportunity to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting and the houses of worship that serve as partners in the delivery of Scouting America’s shared mission.

On these important days Scouts give back in visible and meaningful ways. In some units, that means simply wearing the full field uniform to worship services, where the worship leader presents religious emblems and awards to Scouts and Scouters respectively. In others, the pack, troop, or crew conduct a service project that benefits the faith-based organization.

Now is the time to start planning and engaging your clergy in the celebration. In 2026, Scouting’s Anniversary falls on Sunday, February 8th. The National Religious Relationships Committee has prepared helpful and informative documents to help units plan for their Scouting Anniversary celebration within the walls of faith-based chartered partners or partner facilities. Additional documents are also available with suggested services for Inter-Religious, Islamic, Jewish, and Christian celebrations.

It is official. Thank you to our pilot co-ed Troops in KAC and around the country, whose time, feedback and investment allowed for Scouting programs to officially be an option for all youth.

Here is the information about the camp in Osborn where we will be having our Veteren's Day weekend camping experience. Friday November 7- Sunday November 11/9. Details to be discussed at upcoming meetings.
And for all those that doubt my ability to guide you to the right spot: From central Ellsworth, Take State Street (Rt1A) out of town , take right at Sunrise Glass onto Rt. 179. Follow Rt.179 to end and take a right onto Rt. 9. Go 4.9 miles and take an unmarked right onto Grant Farm Rd., and an immediate left/straight onto Spectacle Pond Rd. (this one IS marked). Following small signs that say "MSC", go 5.7 miles on dirt road to sharp left. Look for a larger sign that says "Memorial Scout Camp". About 100 yards in you'll see a cabin and parking area.
