After this weekend’s damaging storms in Western Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service confirmed that it will survey three of the hardest hit locations.

June 6, 2026
High winds, passed through Ellsworth and surrounding communities this afternoon.
Trees, branches, and/or powerlines were downed on Magnolia, Almond, Maple, Poplar, Elm, Fir, South Pine Streets and more.

Thanks to the efforts of the Ellsworth Volunteer Fire Company and the Ellsworth Borough Maintenance Department, all roads and alleys have been cleared of trees and large branches if possible.

Portions of four streets remain closed due to downed power lines. These include Magnolia Street, Maple Street between Pear and Clearview, South Pine Street near Elm Street, and South Pine Street near Juniper Street.

The high winds tore power, cable, and/or telephone wires from several houses and trees are down in several yards. Damage to homes has been minimal.

It is very likely that electric power will be out throughout our area for an extended period of time

The Bentleyville Fire Department Social Hall is available as a "cooling" center for anyone who has that need. If you need to make use of the "cooling" center, please call the fire department at 724-239-5588 before going to the social hall.
