Inspire Recovery Center - In Support of People in Recovery INSPIRE Community Recovery Center, located in Ellsworth, Maine, offers a safe, fun and comfortable place to connect with members of the community.

People can come in for a cup of coffee, in person recovery supports, and other activities and programs. INSPIRE Recovery Center is a project of Healthy Acadia. Healthy Acadia is a 501(C)(3) community health organization building vibrant communities and making it easier for all people to lead healthy lives throughout Washington and Hancock counties and across Maine. At Healthy Acadia, it is our priority to maintain our social media platforms as safe and respectful places for sharing and discussing topics related to public health. 💜 Community is what it’s all about. 💜

We are so grateful for the incredible turnout at our Overdose Awareness Day event this evening.

We began the night with a moment of silence to remember why we gather—to honor the lives lost to overdose and the loved ones who carry their memories with them every day. We then created space for people to share their emotions, stories, and reflections with one another.

We ended the evening with some connection, button making, and of course, some delicious burgers! 🍔🦋

Tonight was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with compassion, remembrance, and hope. We are incredibly thankful to everyone who joined us and helped make this evening so meaningful.

Join us tomorrow, on Monday, August 31 from 5–7pm at the Knowlton Park for our annual Overdose Awareness Day event.

Together, we will honor and remember the lives lost to overdose, support those who have been impacted, and come together as a community. The evening will include a moment of silence, personal reflections, our Butterfly Tribute, a memory board, overdose prevention materials, Naloxone, test strips, recovery resources, and community connections.

Today, we came together to begin preparing for our annual Overdose Awareness Day event. 🦋💜

Together, we decorated the fence and hung 390 butterflies, each one representing a life lost to overdose in Maine last year. Each butterfly represents a person, a story, a family, and a life that will never be forgotten.
