Our 5th Annual Heartland Harvest brings together delicious food, local b**r, w**e and spirit tastings, music, and a live auction all to support the ECMC Hospital Auxiliary. Lady A’s Bakery & Coffee Bar will have coffee, iced tea, hot c***r, and baked goods to enjoy, too!

A Legacy of Caring, Close to Home

For many members of the ECMC Hospital Auxiliary, the decision to join began with someone they loved—their mother.
They watched her volunteer, organize fundraisers, and give her time to the hospital. They saw how much she cared about her neighbors. Years later, they followed in her footsteps, carrying forward a simple belief: caring for our community is something we do together.

Over the past five years, that commitment has helped bring meaningful improvements to Ellsworth County Medical Center.
The Auxiliary helped build out a new mammography suite, bringing much-needed technology to Ellsworth on a full-time basis. For women in our community, that means greater access to important screening close to home, with fewer miles to travel and less time away from work and family.

Support also helped bring a MolecuLight device to wound care. This technology helps clinicians identify areas of bacterial burden in wounds and guide treatment, supporting the goal of more timely healing. For patients facing difficult, costly wounds, that investment represents hope for relief and a return to everyday life.
New EKG machines help care teams quickly assess the heart’s electrical activity and identify concerning rhythms—providing information that can guide timely decisions when every minute matters. But the Auxiliary’s care reaches beyond equipment.

Through Caring Covers, inpatient blankets offer warmth and a personal touch during a hospital stay. Employee appreciation efforts remind the people caring for our families that their work is valued. Senior Wellness events bring people together for education, resources, and connection. These efforts, and many others, reflect the Auxiliary’s attention to both the needs of the hospital and the people inside it.

Behind each accomplishment are members who show up, donors who give, and neighbors who believe local health care deserves their support.

At the 5th Annual Heartland Harvest, we will honor Auxiliary members, past and present, and introduce the Auxiliary Legacy Endowment Fund. The fund is a way to carry their work forward and help sustain support for local health care for generations to come.
It honors the mothers who inspired their daughters to serve. The friendships formed through years of volunteering. The quiet acts of kindness that may never make the headlines, but leave a lasting mark.

Their legacy lives in the care available close to home, in the comfort offered to a patient, and in every new member who chooses to continue the work.

Together, we can honor those who built this tradition of caring—and help it continue for the next generation.
