A powerful conversation with former Chief Master Sergeants of the Air Force left us with plenty to reflect on. If youâre not able to attend, you can watch it live here Air Force Sergeants Association.
One message stood out, âService before self was never meant to become service always, self never.â Serve as long as you have the desire, but be intentional about your family, your development, and the decisions that shape your life. Most importantly, take care of your people. Be the beacon of light. Start with your family, your Airmen, and your community and let that impact grow.
We dove deep and discussed how leadership is about more than the uniform. Take pride in your service. Lead with your heart. Be intentional. And never forget the people behind the uniform.
Sometimes, the most encouraging thing you can do for someone isnât simply telling them, âYou can do it.â Share your story. Be comfortable with your success. Let others see whatâs possible because they see what youâve accomplished.
Serve with purpose. Take care of your people. Be present for the moments that matter. And leave every place, person, and organization better than you found it.
We appreciate hearing from our former Chiefs and look forward to more of the Professional Educational Development throughout the day.
