We will have Dr. Todd Schmit from Cornell University discussing the economic impact of agriculture in NNY, at our conference on Friday. The last time he did this was in 2021. The overall impact was $1.4 billion across the four counties. Just slightly less than the economic impact of Fort Drum. Here is a little teaser he sent me this morning about the results from his latest analysis:

Looking at the period of 2021 to 2024:

Strong increases in value output for both ag production (+19%) and processing (+31%) sectors. But what impact did wage and salary employee compensation increases have? How did these increases impact profitability in the industry?
Is NNY unique in the outcomes Dr. Schmit shares with us on Friday? Did NYS fair better or worse than NNY?

Also in attendance representing the county were Austin Weaver, Jay Matteson and Doug Shelmidine.
