My daughter started this page for me years ago. I use to post about the dogs I helped get well and get adopted. However I could not keep up with posting. Seemed like a full time job lol.

It would take a long time to catch up with all the rehabs and rescues.
Perhaps I should just start fresh.

Meet Thor. Senior GSD.
He came ad a train wreck. Hips, skin, coat, teeth all bad. Severe fly strikes necrotic tissue. Oh and hw positive.
He is healing. He is getting his spirit back. He was on deaths door.

If you are one that loves seniors and the satisfaction of helping to bring back to life and beauty this breed exhibits.....he can be adopted. I'm sure he has more Years of devotion to give you.

Hi all, I know that I have not updated the page and have had many happy stories to share but no time to do it. I discovered I have so many feeds and messages, that I could be on facebook all day and not make a dent. Maybe I should just concentrate on this page. I am trying to retire after 15 years of rescue and focusing on finding homes for the ones left. I use petfinder for exposure of the adoptable ones. A direct link is starr.petfinder.com I apologize if I have not returned anyone's message, or returned one that was a year old, yikes, lol

Update on Darlin, I thought I did one but it disappeared.
Darlin has been released from the hospital and back at foster home. She is doing well, happy to be home and with her other canine friends. She is breathing much better now inspite of the sneezing runny nose she developed. The doc said she had not pooped in several days so they were concerned. On the way home we stopped at a park and she instantly went and dropped the payload, lol. She is eating well and still charming all who meet her. First photo was car ride home and then the park.

Update on Darlin. Special thanks to Greta at ARF for getting Darlin into their vet for the urgent life saving surgery until we can raise the money to pay the bill. Dr. Pate finished the surgery at 5 pm tuesday and it was a mess in there. Her live was in her lungs, all organs misplaced. She had to spend the night in the oxgyen chamber. Doc said prognosis good but guarded.

2 weeks ago a precious little lowrider female brindle dog showed up at my house. She would not come to me for several days, but food, housing and patience paid off. She finally came up to me wagging tail. We noticed that she had labored breathing, so rushed off to vet. After exam and xrays it was discovered she had a diaphramatic hernea and her organs were pushed up into her lungs. To save her would be at least 1,500 of which I did not have. The other option of euthanizia was too much to bare. I had just lost my own dog a few days before. Plus I just gained the confidence of this beautiful sweet sad dog, to just put her down. So took her home to pray, contemplate as to what to do. Doing nothing meant she would die of suffication. I wanted her to at least be in a home, loved and cared for even if only a week. Here is Darlin, seemed an appropriate name for her. She has been a love bug!

One new change for me is to learn how to do facebook postings. I have been resistant to changing from the old ways of email postings, to this venue. This is why there have not been many posting on this page. Any insites or suggestions veteran FB ers please share with me. I have some little dogs and big dogs that need a home and I have a stray that was dropped off that needs a life saying surgery, for which I do not have the funds to get.
