Let it snow! Adding to the fun for you at this year’s Bob McCarthy’s Irish Christmas, happening at EBC on Friday, December 5tht at 6:00 PM. With the generous support of the Ellicottville Brewing Company and Ellicottville Winery the 20th annual tradition will see all proceeds from special beer and wine proceeds go to the Bob McCarthy Foundation’s programs. Brew master Dan Minner has created a special draft & the traditional McCarthy Irish Red to commemorate the legend at his event. Come hungry as the “Taste of Ireland” feature special dishes served up by local restaurants: Katy’s (Guinness Irish Stew), Madigan’s (Guinness Mack & Cheese), The Silver Fox (Bangers & Mash, Villaggio’s (Pasta & Meatballs – no Irish here😊) & Dina’s (Tom’s Irish Cream Bread Pudding). Believe it or not each of the food & bar items listed above can be had for a small donation of $5 each, with all proceeds helping the Bob McCarthy Foundation.

The Bob McCarthy Foundation has provided help in creating the first ever Ellicottville Central School Dance Team! Over the summer Meghan Emborsky (head coach and middle/high school Spanish teacher) had the idea to create a dance team but needed to purchase special full length mirrors to help give the students the right environment for dance instruction.

Meghan’s dance class meets twice a month on Saturdays from 9-11 for rehearsals. These rehearsals involve conditioning workouts and choreography in different dance styles. They have started the year with a fusion of hip hop and jazz. Bob McCarthy’s Irish Christmas 2025

The November weather does not yet have us thinking about Christmas and one of the best holiday traditions unique to the area. Bob McCarthy’s Irish Christmas, will quickly put us in the holiday season mood. Through the generosity of our friends at Ellicottville Brewing Company the 20th annual tradition will take place on December 5th at 6:00 PM.
This fun event reflects the generosity and compassion of our tight knit community as many winter visitors and locals turn out to support the cause. Hosted by The Bob McCarthy Foundation, this free event serves to raise funds for our Christmas initiatives, Santa’s Workshop, Shop with a Cop and the Sheriffs’ Santa Program. Proceeds also provide funding for our year-round family support services as we strive to level the playing field for those less fortunate in our community. McCarthy Foundation Quarterly Support for Food Pantry
Over the past number of years, the Bob McCarthy Foundation has provided support for many local organizations. Working with the Ellicottville Food Bank for over 20 years the Foundation has provided both equipment and quarterly financial support to help this great local organization. As the need has grown, the community has seen the Food Bank grow with improvements to storage and staging at the Ellicottville United Church.

For over thirty years, the Ellicottville Memorial library has conducted a Summer Reading Program for the youth of our community. For the last 14 years, we have been the grateful recipient of grants to allow us to hire a local student (a senior in high school or currently attending college) to serve as our Summer Intern. We are so appreciative of the Bob McCarthy Foundation for providing this funding which not only benefits the children, but also provides valuable, paid work experience for the intern.

⭐️Ellicottville Medical Loan Center⭐️
Earlier this year, the Bob McCarthy Foundation started an agency fund with the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation.
This month, the Bob McCarthy Foundation received a grant of $250 from the Connie and Sandy Wolfinger Fund. Always looking to increase support in the community, this grant was used to purchase five new knee scooters for the Medical Loan Center. Volunteers at the Medical Loan Center noticed that knee scooters had a larger demand than we could supply, either from Ellicottville or Olean. “Bob McCarthy’s spirit of generosity, creativity and dedication to the Ellicottville community live on through the dedicated community volunteers and local philanthropists,” said Kirk
