The first-ever NSH Connect Pop Up Event was a success! 🎉

Last week, NSH members in the NYC area came together for an afternoon of networking and ongoing education. Topics ranged from leadership in Mohs to quality practices in an AI-driven lab environment, plus conversations around IHC standards and real-world lab challenges.

Ever wonder how a histologist sections a spider fang?
Spoiler: conventional histology doesn't cut it.

Damien Laudier, HTL(ASCP)QIHC, adapted a technique from fossil preparation and geology to produce something that has never really been done before: high-resolution histological sections of spider chelicerae, revealing tissue detail that micro-CT and SEM can't capture.

With 52,000 known spider species, there's a lot of histology left to discover.
