Americover 2026 to be held during BALPEX 2026

The American First Day Cover Society has announced that it will hold its Americover 2026 exhibition in conjunction with the BALPEX 2026 show August 7-9, 2026, at the BWI Airport Marriott, 1743 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum Heights MD.

The AFDCS felt BALPEX would be a good fit for Americover according AFDCS President Lloyd de Vries. BALPEX hosts its annual World Series of Philately exhibition at the show. A single jury will judge both exhibitions.
Americover was part of an independent show from 1993 to 2019. It then became part of the Great American Stamp Show (GASS) for the past four years. GASS will not be held in 2026 due to the Boston 2026 World Stamp Expo taking place May 23-30, 2026.

Dear Baltimore Philatelic Society Members,

First, let me remind you that there will not be a general membership meeting on Wednesday, October 2. We will, however, be meeting on Wednesday, October 9 for the purpose of placing address stickers and postage on our BALPEX postcards to alert everyone about our upcoming show. BALPEX is only one month away, from October 25-27, at our new location at the BWI Marriott Hotel. The Board of Governors is asking for your help, beginning with our October 9 meeting to get our postcards out to philatelists in our geographic area.
Our librarian, John Brandenburg, reports that we have a large assortment of philatelic books that are duplicates of books already in the BPS library. Before selling them at BALPEX, BPS members will have an opportunity to purchase them at the October 9 meeting, at very reasonable prices.
Lastly, your help is needed on Thursday, October 24 for the BALPEX setup and Sunday, October 27 for the BALPEX post-show breakdown. We are all volunteers, and all of the BALPEX exhibitors, bourse dealers, and other show attendees are our invited guests. We want to make a great impression of our organization, and your help getting exhibit frames set up as well as our BPS table will help create a positive experience for everyone. We also need help after the show to load the frames and all BPS show materials back onto our truck. If you can assist with either or both days, please let me or any of the BALPEX committee members know.
