Life On Wheels Inc

Life On Wheels Inc L.O.W. mission is to help people who are wheelchair users with a temporary or permanent disability caused by injury or disease to become independent.

Hi, my name is Rodney Worthen and I am a disable veteran. Over the past 10 years of being a parapelgic, I have been exposed to the difference between a disable civilian and myself. There are many civilians that can not afford home or vehicle modifications and have a hard time even being able to purchase the medical supplies or equipments that they need. Due to the fact that medicaid or medicare pr

ovides minimum coverage. Being that I am a veteran, those things are at my disposal for little or no cost to me. My organization wants to be able to provide these services to those who can not afford them. I also, have formed a wheelchair club called, the Fly Ryders Wheelchair Club. It is a social club for those who are wheelchair users and it gives us a chance to share life experiences, give each other advice and encourage each other during our process of becoming independent. My vision for the club is to have vehicles to transport members who do not drive, back and forth to different fuctions, get togethers and charity events. I believe with faith and your support, these things are possible. Any donation you is willing to give to help Life On Wheels Inc will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, my name is Rodney Worthen. I am a disabled Veteran that is paralyzed from the waist down due to a vehicle accident in 2005. I'm the president and founder of the "Fly Ryders" wheelchair club in Columbus Ga. I spend a lot of my time visiting and hanging out with other members of my club. Especially those who are not mobile and spend a lot of their time at home. I'm in need of help raising money to have permanent hand controls installed in my vehicle. I am not service connected and therefore the VA will not pay for the installation. This would really help me to be more efficient in my independence. I have a set of temporary/portable hand controls but they are not made for everyday use. Also, using these on long drives or even stop and go traffic causes stress on my wrist and shoulder. I have 3 quotes that I have received and the cheapest for parts and labor is a little over $1900. No donation is too small and I am grateful for everyone who decides to help.
