Hi, my name is Rodney Worthen. I am a disabled Veteran that is paralyzed from the waist down due to a vehicle accident in 2005. I'm the president and founder of the "Fly Ryders" wheelchair club in Columbus Ga. I spend a lot of my time visiting and hanging out with other members of my club. Especially those who are not mobile and spend a lot of their time at home. I'm in need of help raising money to have permanent hand controls installed in my vehicle. I am not service connected and therefore the VA will not pay for the installation. This would really help me to be more efficient in my independence. I have a set of temporary/portable hand controls but they are not made for everyday use. Also, using these on long drives or even stop and go traffic causes stress on my wrist and shoulder. I have 3 quotes that I have received and the cheapest for parts and labor is a little over $1900. No donation is too small and I am grateful for everyone who decides to help.
