What does a CWU education make possible?

For junior filmmaker Gurdil Dardi, it means competing, and winning recognition, on a world stage.

His film Immiscer went up against nearly 3,000 short films from 194 countries. His 2025 spec commercial Moments That Last scored in the competitive range at an Academy Award-qualifying festival, judged alongside professional filmmakers nationwide.

All of it filmed on campus. With a budget of zero.

"The caliber of training and mentorship CWU's Film Production program provides" made the difference, in Gurdil's own words.

That's the power of investing in CWU students. 🎬

Something big is coming to CWU's campus!
The North Academic Commons (NAC) is nearly complete, and the Wildcat Community made it possible.

This $108M, LEED Gold-certified building will be home to departments including History, English, Political Science, Law &Justice, and more. With a 240-seat auditorium, mock courtroom, natural light-filled spaces, and a first-of-its-kind geothermal system powered by the Ellensburg Aquifer, the NAC is built for the next generation of wildcats.

From London to Cape Town, CWU students are making their mark on the world.

Mistie Mexay and Mahmood Alkhazraji are two of the latest Wildcats to turn classroom learning into global impact. They are pursuing internships in UX/UI design and human rights advocacy, and bringing those experiences back to Ellensburg and the broader Pacific Northwest community. Opportunities like these don't happen by accident. They're made possible by a university that believes every student, regardless of financial background, deserves a chance to grow beyond borders.

How has a CWU experience shaped your path?

We set out to reach 450 donors, and together, YOU made sure we didn't just meet that goal, we exceeded it, finishing with an amazing 605! This is what the Wildcat community looks like.

A huge thank you to the Foundation Board and Alumni Board for their outstanding support of Direct the Dollars. To the alumni, families, friends, and students, thank you for showing up and supporting the projects that mean the most to you. Every gift, every share, every dollar made a difference.

So excited for the future of Give Central and everything we can accomplish together.

When alumni give back, dreams become reality.

After years of student advocacy and the generous support of donors like CWU Trustee and alumna Zabrina Jenkins ('92), CWU students now have a place to call their own. The newly opened Multicultural Center on the Ellensburg campus is more than a building. It's a lasting testament to what's possible when our Wildcat community comes together.

From a full kitchen and dance studio to flexible study spaces and a meditation room, the MCC was built with every student in mind. As MCC Director Mal Stewman puts it, it's simply "a place to find your place."

This is what giving back to CWU looks like.

What an incredible day of giving!
Yesterday, the Wildcat community came together in the SURC to show up for the programs and people that make CWU special. From students to alumni, the energy and generosity on display made 2026 one to remember.

A huge part of that was made possible by $5,000 in funding from our Alumni Association and Foundation Boards that grew to $10,000 through additional board support. Their kindness gave 200 students $50 each to direct toward projects of their choosing. Thank you to our boards for making this possible, and to every student who came out to support the areas across campus they're passionate about. Go Cats!

2026 was a success and that's because of YOU.

But our mission doesn't stop here. There are still projects in need of support, and giving is open until 12PM today.

The finish line is in sight. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference.
