The Central Cello Celebration is a biennial summit of Northwest cellists who wish to revel in the rich cello repertoire and collaborate in a massive cello choir performance. Open to cellists of all ages, high-school players will additionally be able to perform in recitals, workshops and masterclasses. Rehearsals of the cello choirs begin the evening of Friday October 19th, and the Celebration culminates with the performance in the Finale Concert on the evening of the 20th. (link to photos)
📷The combined Grandioso Celebration Cello Choir will be giving the world premiere of a Tom Walworth commissioned work, Villa Lobos’ Bachianas Brasilieras No. 1 mvt., Piazzolla’s Buenos Aires hora cero arranged by Pablo Estigarribia, and other Latin American music for cello ensemble. Nathan Chan joined the Seattle Symphony as third chair cellist in 2017. Nathan Chan has performed as a soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, the Royal Philharmonic, Albany Symphony, Reno Philharmonic and Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra. Chan is a strong proponent of using technology and media to attract others into the classical world and is committed to his fast growing Internet presence; to date, he has over 6.1 million views on YouTube. 📷Patricia Pasmanter is Argentinian, born in the city of Resistencia-Chaco. As president the Suzuki Association of Buenos Aires (2005-2009), she lead the realization of 3 international festivals. As an instrumentalist she has given numerous concerts in string quartets, with bandoneón, and in a duo of cello and piano, in the main halls of Argentina, being among them the Golden Hall of the House of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires and the Golden Hall of the Colon Theater of Buenos Aires. She is a cello professor at the Conservatory of the City of Buenos Aires "Astor Piazzola", Professor of the School of Music No. 7 District 11, teacher in the private field, Director of the Pablo Casals Project, and Coordinator of the Garden Orchestra Project In Buenos Aires city.

PARTICIPATION/ELIGIBILITY
Participants will rehearse and then perform in either the Celebration Cello Choir (high school/college level) or Debut Cello Choir (intermediate level of 2y+ experience) in the Finale Central Cello Celebration Concert. For the final work all cellists will perform together. All participants are encouraged to attend all sessions: masterclasses, discussions and concerts. Students between 14-18 years of age are eligible to participate as a performer in the masterclass sessions and recitals with teacher recommendation. Have your teacher complete the online recommendation form.
REGISTRATION/FEES
All participants must complete the standard Online Registration Form.
If you plan on performing in a recital or masterclass, please have your teacher complete the Online Recommendation Form as well.
Registrations received on or before October 1, 2018 will be charged $65.00 while those received after October 1, 2016 will be $85.00. Payment is due upon arrival by check or cash.
