You might notice some activity at Yakima Canyon Interpretive Center recently! Our yurts are being constructed for our Pond to Pines camp programs! These are 25' round hard-walled yurts with metal roofs. They are designed for year round use so watch for more programming coming from KEEN for the fall! We still need to install a hammerhead turnaround for a fire truck and so are raising funds to complete the project. After changes in our camp schedule this summer, we are now looking for a temporary, full time camp counselor to join our team! Spend a fun-packed 5 weeks in the great outdoors, leading activities in environmental science, sustainability, and stewardship! Summer salary is $740 a week. We're disappointed to announce the cancellation of some of our summer camp programs due to lower-than-expected enrollment. We understand that families often make last-minute decisions, but as a non-profit, we had to make timely hiring and planning decisions to ensure the success of our programs.

Unfortunately, this meant we couldn't wait for final numbers and had to adjust our offerings. We regret that we lost an employee opportunity due to this uncertainty.
We're committed to providing quality programs and are exploring alternative options for the summer. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to working with our community to make future programs a success.
