RYAN THOMPSON COPS & BOBBERS 2026

Join us on April 18, 2026, for the sixth annual Ryan Thompson COPS & BOBBERS youth fishing event at Ryan Thompson Memorial Park east of Ellensburg. Each year, this event brings kids from across Kittitas County together with law enforcement officers for a day of fishing, fun, and community.

COPS & BOBBERS is held in honor of Kittitas County Deputy Ryan Thompson and reflects one of the best things about this county: kids, families, community members, and law enforcement coming together in a positive way.

Due to fish and wildlife regulations this event is limited to kids age 14 and under. Register ahead for your kids’ hour-long fishing slot here:

The Cowboy Cross event held every Setember graciously allows the association to run the Beer Garden which helps fund this yearly event. The remaining costs of the event is made possible entirely through donations and volunteer support.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Sergeant Nate Foster at 509-962-7525. Donations may be dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office and made payable to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office Association.

There are two Sheriff's Association events right around the corner. September 27th is Cowboy Cross, with the Association hosting the beer garden once again. The proceeds from the beer garden supports the Association and expenses related to Cops and Bobbers. October 4th is Ryan Thompson Pint Night at Whipsaw Brewing. More information to follow, including this year's all new Pint Night shirts, designed by Shirtworks.

For the fourth year in a row the Kittitas County Sheriff's Association is fortunate enough to be hosting the beer garden at this fantastic event. Proceeds of the beer garden aid in sponsoring the local fishing event, "Cops and Bobbers." Come see us in Section 9, which is a new location this year. The beer garden is open from noon until 10 pm. Special thank you to Matt and Jessi Webb, Super One Foods, Whipsaw Brewing and company!
