For immediate release:
Local 663 would like to inform our community of the abrupt departure of Fire Chief Palmer from KVFR. This sudden change in leadership raises serious concerns and leaves important questions unanswered for both our members and the public we serve.
Local 663 wants to be clear: our commitment to this community has not changed. Our dedicated Career firefighters remain on duty, fully operational, and unwavering in our mission to protect life and property. Regardless of leadership instability, we will continue to show up, respond, and serve with professionalism and dedication.
However, during times of transition, we believe open communication and community involvement are especially important. We encourage the taxpayers and residents within the district to attend upcoming Fire Commissioner meetings to stay informed, ask questions, and be part of the conversation regarding the future of KVFR.
These meetings are typically the second Thursday of each month at 7 PM. They will take place at Station 29; 400 E. Mountain View Ave in the City of Ellensburg. https://www.kvfr.org/board-meetings
Local 663 stands united and committed to each other and to this community. We will continue to serve the citizens of KVFR with professionalism and integrity. We will however advocate for transparency and accountability this district deserves.
Thank you for your continued trust and support,
Your Career Firefighting Members of Local 663
