Supporting the Ellendale Area Community Foundation means supporting the people, projects, and ideas that help Ellendale continue to grow. This foundation exists because neighbors invest in neighbors, and because there’s a shared belief that local giving can have a lasting impact.

We’re proud to play a small part in helping carry that mission forward and equally proud of the community members who volunteer their time to guide this work year after year. It’s a reminder that strong towns are built through steady commitment, generosity, and a lot of care for the place we call home.

Making a Difference Monday! The Ellendale Community Food Pantry was able to add a 25'x20' addition to their existing food pantry, thanks in part to a grant from the Ellendale Area Community Foundation. "We have seen an increase in use of the pantry due to rising costs of food," noted Michele Thorpe in their grant report. The addition will also allow the pantry to provide cooking classes, recipes, and literature for families such as creating meals on a budget. The Ellendale Area Community Foundation is one of 72 local community endowment funds under NDCF's umbrella.

Ellendale Area Community Foundation 2025 Grants Available

The Ellendale Area Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for the 2025 grant cycle. Only applications submitted online will be accepted and technical assistance will be available for anyone who needs if. Applicants must be within a 40-mile radius of Ellendale and must be designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, or government agency. Groups without such designation seeking to apply may enlist a fiscal sponsor. The deadline for submitting a request is March 31, 2025.
