If you are attending the Rockingham County Fair this week be sure to stop by the Rockingham County Volunteer Fire Fighter's Association Burger Barn and support you local emergency services. We are located next to the grand stand entrance.

It was an eventful weekend around Elkton. Started off by celebrating the annual Field Day parade Friday evening. Then we assisted Mcgaheysville Fire Company with a structure fire in Massanutten. Finally capping off the weekend with a standby for the Field Day fireworks display.

SERV 30 and Engine 36 assisted Grottoes Fire and Grottoes Rescue with a landing zone for UVA Pegasus on Skyline Drive earlier today.

The Town of Elkton and EACC is here for our community. ❤️

Due to the current heat advisory, the Elkton Area Community Center (EACC) was originally scheduled to be closed for the holiday weekend. However, we know how important it is to have a safe, cool place during extreme temperatures, so we’re opening our doors as a Cooling Center for everyone in our community.

Everyone is welcome!

🏃 EACC Members: Enjoy access to the gym during the posted cooling center hours.

🚶 Non-Members: Walk in free of charge to work out, walk the indoor track, or simply relax in the air conditioning.

♠️ We also have tables set up if you’d like to bring cards, board games, puzzles, crafts, or other activities. Or just stop by, cool off, and enjoy some good company.

Our community always comes together to support one another, and we’re happy to provide a comfortable place to escape the heat

Its been a while since we shared our monthly call statistics. Here are June's and the first half of 2026. So far through 2026 we are up three calls over 2025 totals. We hope to get back to regularly sharing these for the rest of the year.
