This past Saturday Michael, Dakota and Steve headed over to Breaking Bread Ministries to volunteer with their food outreach. It was a joy to help take out groceries and pray with people and we met some awesome fellow volunteers. Stay tuned....we have more things planned for the remainder of the year.

Last night! We were over by Castillo De San Marcos National Monument tonight and it was a good night! A lot of people were out and about and several stopped to talk. We handed out the rest of our gospel tracks and all but a handful of bracelets. That makes every bit of 200 bible verse bracelets we were able to give away this trip. This has been an amazing and fulfilling ministry trip but we are exhausted and so ready to be back in Kentucky! We have already loaded the car and will leaving bright and early in the morning!

Tonight's homeless outreach was a success. We gave away 17 sandwiches and handed out a few tracks as well. We made our way down St. George Street and then back up Spanish Street before catching the bus back to the parking garage. By the time we made it back to the car I think between our feet and backs we could feel every step we took, but it was worth it.

Update:

Yesterday morning we visited the Homeless Coalition of St. John's County and dropped off
[ ] 10 sleeping bags
[ ] 20 emergency ponchos
[ ] 24 travel sunscreens
[ ] 12 bug sprays
[ ] 12 solar phone chargers
[ ] 5 tents
[ ] 1 large pack of socks (not sure of the exact number but probably around 50)

Then that evening we went out to a friend's house for supper and fellowship. Building and keeping relationships is important to us and we met Bro Mark and his late wife last year while we were here. He was gracious enough to host all 6 of us in his home and cook an amazing supper. We have been so blessed with the amazing people we have met along this journey.

This morning we were up early and headed back down to the historical district. We had a backpack cooler with waters and handed those out for free and bracelets again. It was a struggle in the heat. The 'feels like' heat index was 103-105°. We didnt get the engagement like we have previously, but seeds were definitely planted. And Dakota had a great conversation with the Jehovah's Witnesses that were set up discussing our contrasting views of faith and doctrine.

We have a plan for tomorrow evening - we will be switching things up a little so prayers would be appreciated as we go out tomorrow evening focusing entirely on searching out the homeless and providing meals.

God showed up again tonight—in the unexpected and in the detours. We had planned to head out for street ministry, but instead there came a downpour of epic proportions! We came back the room and by the time we got to where we could do anything we figured it was too late and most people would not be out.

Still, we decided to drive over anyway and walk around Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. It's so beautiful at night but I really wanted to see the streets lit up so I convinced Michael to to drive around and as soon as we passed St. George street we saw this gentleman. We circled around a couple times and he was still there so we stopped. Michael parked the car and Dakota jumped out with waters and I got out too. I stayed back so I didn't interrupt but I wanted to make sure Dakota stayed safe. That's one thing that's probably not stressed enough- how dangerous it can be out on the streets especially at 11:00 at night. Most of the people we meet are amazing and nice, but not all of them are. Some are on the streets for several reasons; drugs and mental health being a few of those.

But Dakota was able to give this man water and pray with him. I didn't see it when it was happening, but now I can clearly see how God was nudging us towards that street and that man. The night didnt turn out how we planned, but I say it turned out how God planned it for sure.

St. Augustine trip update #1.

Yesterday we didnt get any ministry pictures but Michael Willetts and Dakota Willetts went to Family Church and helped to unload pallets for the food distribution today. Today we all showed up. The girls and I were in the front as people come in Michael and Dakota were at the end of the line helping to load vehicles. It is a blessing to see so many people leave with food. We got to hear some of their stories- and met several from Kentucky. It was a great morning.

This evening we headed out to St. George Street for about 3 hours where we handed out bracelets, prayed with people and had some hard conversations about what we believe and why. It was a great night. And we can't wait to see what the rest of the week holds.

Tonight was such a blessing providing a meal at the Salvation Army. We met and talked to some amazing people and were able to give away 2 Bibles. Please keep everyone we encountered, including the employees, in your prayers. There's some mighty big needs these individuals have and we just pray that God works in amazing ways in their lives.
