💙💛Day 4 of the 100th Virginia FFA State Convention is in the books!💛💙

Members attended the final session of convention and celebrated the accomplishments of FFA members from across the state. A special congratulations goes to our 🥛Milk Quality and Products🧀 CDE team for placing 2nd🏅! With this outstanding achievement, they have earned the opportunity to represent Virginia at The Big E in Massachusetts this fall.

We couldn't be more proud of every member who competed, participated, and represented our chapter throughout the week. Your hard work, dedication, leadership, and commitment to agricultural education were on full display, and you should all be proud of what you accomplished.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week such a memorable experience. Congratulations again to all of our competitors and award recipients. Here's to another successful year and the exciting opportunities ahead!

💛💙Day 3 at the Virginia FFA State Convention! 💙💛

Another exciting day of learning, leadership, and celebration for our chapter!

Our 🐴Hippology Team🐴 competed and represented us well, showcasing their knowledge and skills in the equine industry.

Students also had the opportunity to explore the 👷‍♂️Career Fair 👷‍♀️, connecting with colleges, businesses, and industry professionals while learning about future career opportunities.

To gain a deeper appreciation for our organization’s history, members visited the FFA Historical Room, where they learned more about the roots and traditions that have shaped FFA into what it is today. ✍️ 📜

✨ During Session 4, we celebrated a major accomplishment as two of our members received their Virginia FFA State Degrees—one of the highest honors a state association can bestow. Congratulations Rebecca Green and Wyatt Holloway. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and achievements! ✨

🪩 The day ended with plenty of fun and fellowship as students attended the FFA Dance, making memories with members from across the state.

🌟 Day 2 at the 100th Virginia FFA State Convention 🌟

🐄Livestock Evaluation🐖 and 👨‍🏭Ag Mechanics🔧 teams put their skills to the test in their competitions.

🎤Students attended the Talent Show, watching amazing performances from FFA members across the state.

🌾Members participated in the Grassland Games workshop, learned valuable leadership and teamwork skills, and enjoyed spending time together over meals and convention activities.

✨We also attended Session 2 of the convention, where members were inspired by outstanding speakers and celebrated the accomplishments of fellow FFA members.

📣And the biggest excitement of the day—our very own State Officer candidate, Rebecca Green, successfully made it through the advancement process! 🎉 We are so proud of her hard work, commitment, and representation of our chapter. Please join us in wishing her continued success as she process moves forward!

Day 2 was filled with learning, competition, fellowship, and unforgettable memories. We can't wait to see what day 3 brings!

💛💙Day 1 of the 100th Virginia State FFA Convention is in the books! 💙💛

Our 💐Floriculture💐 and 🥛Milk Quality🧀 teams represented our chapter well as they competed today. We also had the opportunity to attend Session One and celebrate the accomplishments of FFA members from across the Virginia.

This year's convention is especially meaningful as we celebrate the ✨100th✨ Virginia State FFA Convention in the birthplace of FFA. Virginia holds a special place in FFA history, as agricultural education leader Henry C. Groseclose of Blacksburg is recognized as the "Father of FFA" and played a key role in developing the organization we know today. 💙💛

During Session One, our chapter was honored to be recognized for:
🏆 100% Membership
🏆 Public Relations – Bronze Rating
🏆 2026 National Superior Chapter Award
🏆 Superior Chapter – Silver Rating
We are incredibly proud of these accomplishments and the hard work of our members throughout the year.

✨We're also excited to have one of our own running for a Virginia State FFA Officer position! Rebecca Green, we wish you the very best as you pursue State FFA Office! We are cheering you on every step of the way!!✨

Congratulations to all of our members who helped make these achievements possible. We can't wait to see what the rest of convention has in store!

Thrusday we had the opportunity to host AgXplore Day!

✨ We had 270 5th grade students join us from MaGaheysville Elementary, South River Elementary, River Bend Elementary and Elkton Elementary. ✨

FFA members did an amazing job planning, setting up and running this event. Each member that helped out today expanded their leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills as they navigated through the day.

🐖 Hog Raising and Showing - Chase Wilcher shared his knowledge from his barn to the show ring. Chase demonstrated how he works with his hogs and explained essential show equipment. 🐖

🐐 Goat Raising and Showing - Eli Conley shared his knowledge on raising and showing goats. Eli shared common equipment used to prepare goat for show and demonstrated how to walk a goat! 🐐

🌱Life Cycles of Plants - Imanol Camacho went over the life cycle of plants from germination to flowering. Imanol demonstrated how to plant seeds then helped students plant their own sunflower seed! 🌻

🍋 Citrus - Riley Davis & Sutton Swecker explained where majority of citrus is produced and shared interesting facts about citrus. Riley and Sutton demonstrated and helped students make their own homemade lemonade! 🥤🍋

🐓 Poultry Farming - Peyton Hilbert & Jax Ganoe went over poultry farming and biosecurity. Peyton and Jax kept students engaged with glitter ✨ and flour to demonstrate how fast diseases and bacteria spreads when not following hygiene protocols before entering and after exiting a poultry house. 🐓

🎣 Ag Fact Fishing - Nathan Douglas & Dylan Huyard had students fishing for ag facts. Students split up into groups to catch a fish, answer the corresponding question and match it with the correct livestock species. 🎣

🚜 Ag Safety - Collin Roberts & Ethan Shull explained safety around common farm equipment and why rollover protection structures are important. Collin and Ethan even explained the importance of wearing a helmet when riding a dirt bike and four wheeler! 🚜

🍔 Where Does My Food Come From? - Paxton Sager & Jonathan Segovia used a handmade map of Virginia to show students where most commodities are produced in Virginia to create a Hamburger! Paxton and Jonathan helped students create their own mini hamburger. 🍔

🐖Pop tart and 🐐Tyson, 🍼bottle babies, were also a huge hit!

National Convention Day 4 (Saturday Nov. 1)

⭐️We watched the American FFA Degree Ceremony live, students from around the county receive the highest degree honor possible in the FFA. ⭐️

🚌🧳We then embarked on our travel home, arriving back at midnight! 🧳🚌

✨This past week was full of learning opportunities, heart tugging speeches, new experiences, laughter, and so many memories were made in every moment! Can not wait for these students to share their experience with their fellow members and use them to continue strengthening East Rockingham FFA chapter ✨

National Convention Day 3 (Friday Oct. 31)

📒Students participated in workshops! 📒
🍎 The girls participated in STEP UP TO THE PLATE: Slide into teaching agriculture where YOU’RE the real MVP! Seeing if they got what it takes to run the classroom bases and join the big leagues of agricultural education.🍎
🗣️The boys participate in YOUR WORDS HAVE WORTH: We all want to make a difference, but the question is how? The National FFA Advocacy Model is an incredible tool for creating change.🗣️

We walked a little over a mile through the White River State Park as we headed to ZOOBOO at the Indianapolis Zoo. Students enjoyed learning about the different exotic animals!

National Convention Day 2 (Thursday Oct. 29)

🌳 Students started the day by participating in the National Day of Service helping to remove invasive burning bush from a local park, Eagles Creek, with Living Lands and Water. We had the pleasure of sharing this experience with Dr. Shifflett and Spotswood FFA. 🌳

🍗 We enjoyed lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings 🍗

🕹️👾 We checked out the Punch Bowl Socials, an arcade 👾🕹️

📚✏️ Finished the night off by catching up on student’s academic work ✏️📚
