August is wrapping up, and a new school year is right around the corner.

For many young people in Cecil County, having a trusted adult in their corner can make a real difference.

That’s what mentoring is all about. Showing up. Spending time together. Listening. Encouraging them. And being someone they know they can count on.

Cecil County Mentors is looking for caring adults who are ready to make that kind of connection. You don’t need to be perfect or have all the answers. You just need to be willing to show up.

We had such a fun time at Grab, Grub & Grow at Winding Brook! 🌱💚
It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with families, enjoy some delicious food, and celebrate the importance of community and supporting local youth. We’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by, connected with us, and helped make the event such a great time!

Today is National Nonprofit Day, and we're feeling especially grateful for this community.

Cecil County Mentors exists because people in our community are willing to show up for local kids. Whether you mentor, volunteer, donate, or help spread the word, you're making a difference in a young person's life.

Mentoring doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes the biggest impact comes from simply being there, listening, and letting a child know they matter.

Today is National Relaxation Day, and it's a good reminder that taking care of yourself isn't a luxury. It's important.

Whether it's enjoying your morning coffee a little longer, taking a walk, reading a book, or simply slowing down for a few minutes, make time to recharge today.

When we care for ourselves, we're better able to care for others. That's true for mentors, parents, caregivers, and everyone in our community.

This National Book Lovers Day, take a trip to the Cecil County Public Library with a young person in your life. Check out a few books, find a cozy spot to read together, or let them pick a story that catches their eye. Those simple moments often become the ones they remember most.
