Mid-Atlantic Patient Safety Center

Mid-Atlantic Patient Safety Center The Mid-Atlantic Patient Safety Center (MPSC) is recognized as a national leader in patient safety.

MPSC convenes providers of care to accelerate our understanding and implement evidence-based solutions for preventing avoidable harm. By providing a secure environment for healthcare organizations and clinicians to collect and analyze data, PSOs, including the Mid-Atlantic PSO (a component of the Maryland Patient Safety Center), in partnership with their member organizations are able to improve quality and safety in patient care.

This National Nurses Week, the Mid-Atlantic Patient Safety Center extends our gratitude to the nurses whose leadership and compassion help drive safer care outcomes every day.

Nurses are often the first to recognize changes, raise concerns, coordinate care, and advocate for patients and families. Their voices, experience, and commitment are essential to advancing a culture of safety throughout healthcare.

We thank nurses everywhere for the care, strength, and expertise they bring to every patient interaction.

As Patient Safety Awareness Week comes to a close, we’re reminded that patient safety isn’t a one-week focus—it’s a daily commitment.

We’ll continue to emphasize a simple but powerful truth: safer care depends on collaboration and partnership. When care teams, leaders, patients, families, and partners work together, we build stronger systems and achieve better outcomes for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who shared ideas, experiences, and actions this week. Let’s carry this momentum forward and keep working together to advance patient safety—today and every day. 💙

Patient safety doesn’t belong to one role, one team, or one organization—it belongs to all of us.

As part of Patient Safety Awareness Week, our Team Up for Patient Safety campaign highlights collaboration as the foundation of safer care. When clinicians, support staff, leaders, patients, and families work together, we strengthen systems and create safer environments for everyone.

This week is about learning from one another and reinforcing the partnerships that make better care possible. How are you teaming up for patient safety in your organization or role?
