A few extra items in your grocery cart can help a Howard County neighbor put a meal on the table. Our Board of Elections is hosting the Harvest of Hope Food Drive during early voting, in partnership with the Howard County Food Bank and Community Action Council of Howard County.

From October 22 through October 29, 2026, donations will be accepted daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at these five locations:
• Gary J. Arthur Community Center: 2400 MD-97, Cooksville
• Meadowbrook Athletic Complex: 5001 Meadowbrook Lane, Ellicott City
• Bain 50+ Center: 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, Columbia
• St. John Baptist Church: 9055 Tamar Drive, Columbia
• North Laurel Community Center: 9411 Wh***ey Bottom Road, Laurel
Most-needed items include canned vegetables and fruit, canned tuna or chicken, soup, beans, pasta and sauce, rice, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, macaroni and cheese, and shelf-stable milk. Baby food, diapers in sizes 4 and larger, and personal hygiene products are also requested. Please do not donate expired or spoiled items.

If you’re able, consider bringing a donation when you head out to vote. Thank you to our Board of Elections and food assistance partners for organizing this effort, and to everyone helping keep our neighbors’ shelves stocked.

Meet HOOO volunteers, help a neighbor create a functional space, and enjoy some delicious b**r and food. See you then!
