This week in Mosaic Elementary, we learned about Daniel’s friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Everyone in the land was ordered to worship a giant golden statue and the penalty for those who refused was a quick trip into a blazing hot furnace. When Daniel’s friends defied the king’s orders, they were tossed into those flames. Instead of meeting a quick end, they met someone unexpected.

Bottom Line: God is with me, so I can stand for what’s true.

This week in Mosaic Preschool, we continued in Moses’ story this week with God showing His people the way to go with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night as they escape from slavery in Egypt. One night, they see that Pharaoh and his army are chasing after them. They are camping at the edge of the water, and there is no way for them to escape. God tells Moses to hold his walking stick over the water and the wind starts to blow. God pushes back the water to make a way for the Israelites to walk through and escape. God showed the people where to go because God’s got it!

This month in Mosaic Elementary, we are learning that God is my strength! This month, we want to equip kids to understand that no matter what they face, God is fighting with them and for them. Jesus wins! And in the end, everything will be made right, even if it’s not our timeline. With this truth in mind, we can always find strength and courage in God! Our theme for the month helps kids discover THE SAFE PLACE: God is stronger than anyone or anything.

This week we visit the edge of the promised land with Joshua and the Israelites. It seems like they have no chance against the strongly walled city of Jericho, their only path into the land that God has promised. But, God is so strong that He doesn’t need the Israelite’s weapons, only their obedience.

Bottom Line: God is strong, so I can be brave.

It's a new month in Mosaic Preschool, and that means we have a new theme:
Game time is all about play, and preschoolers learn through play more than anything else. Games give preschoolers opportunities to make choices, try new things, and feel proud of their accomplishments. They want to feel capable and in control, but when they don’t feel that way, we want them to know that they can turn to the One who is. So, our memory verse this month is Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

This week we learned about Moses. God called out to Moses from a burning bush. God tells Moses that he’s going to rescue his people by sending Moses to Pharaoh. Moses is filled with questions! How can I go to Pharaoh? What if they won’t listen to me? What if they don’t believe that You sent me? God says “I will be with you” God gives Moses miraculous signs to show that God is with him. Moses could see that God is awesome and powerful. Moses still had questions, but nothing is too hard for God. God’s got it.

This month in Mosaic Elementary, we are learning to Hear from God! We serve a God who wants to speak to us and who designed us to hear from Him every day! For many of us, though, hearing from God feels complicated. Where do I start? How do I know if it’s God or my own thoughts? God loves when we ask those questions—and we’re excited to help kids ask those questions, too, as we explore FREQUENCY - Learning to hear from God.

We learned about God calling to Samuel. Samuel didn’t know God’s voice yet; when He called out to him in the night, he was confused. Eli instructed him to ask God to speak. Then Samuel was faithful to listen and share God’s words.

Bottom Line: I can ask God to speak to me.

We learned about Jonah. God told Jonah to go the city of Ninevah, but Jonah didn’t want to do what God said. He got on a boat and went the other way. When a huge storm threatened the boat, Jonah knew it was because of him. So he told the men thrown him overboard into the water. But God was with Jonah. He sent a big fish to swallow Jonah and for 3 days, Jonah was safe in the belly of the fish, where he prayed and talked to God. We can always pray and talk to God, just like Jonah.

September Theme:
Preschoolers cannot see God, but they need to know that He is always with them. God is close enough to hear their giggles and tears, and He hears them when they pray to Him. So, we have four Bible stories to share this month that will help preschoolers learn this month’s Bottom Line: God is always with me.
