The Rural Nevada Trauma Symposium brings together EMS, fire, nurses, physicians, dispatch, law enforcement, flight crews, hospital teams, emergency management, and other public safety professionals for education built around the realities of providing care in rural communities.
This year’s symposium will feature real-world cases, lessons learned from critical incidents, multidisciplinary discussions, and practical strategies providers can take back to their agencies and use in the field.
Topics will include rural trauma decision-making, pediatric and pregnancy emergencies, multiagency response, emergency management, lessons learned from actual incidents, and much more.

These awards celebrate leadership, clinical excellence, courage, innovation, mentorship, collaboration, and commitment to serving our rural and frontier communities.
Awards include:
🏅 Distinguished Service Medal of Honor — Recognizing an EMS professional whose career demonstrates exceptional leadership, clinical excellence, mentorship, and long-term dedication to EMS.
🕊️ Last Call Medal of Honor — Honoring an active, retired, or fallen EMS professional whose service, compassion, and legacy made a lasting impact on their agency and community.
🚑 Trauma & EMS Hero Award — Recognizing first responders or healthcare professionals who demonstrated extraordinary courage, lifesaving actions, or leadership during a significant emergency or critical incident.
⭐ Agency of the Year Award — Honoring an agency or organization that exemplifies excellence in patient care, innovation, teamwork, collaboration, responder wellness, and community service.
🌟 Rising Star Award — Recognizing an emerging EMS or healthcare professional who has shown exceptional promise, leadership, professionalism, and compassion early in their career.
📅 Nomination Deadline: January 5, 2027
Anyone may submit a nomination — coworkers, supervisors, agency leaders, community members, patients, family members, or friends. If someone has made a difference in your agency, your community, or the lives of others, help us recognize them!
🏆 Awards will be presented during the 5th Annual Rural Nevada Trauma Symposium on March 5, 2027.
