Two more community trees were planted! 🌳 As part of the Rotary Club of Elko's Community Trees Project, two additional trees have found a new home in downtown Elko at the historic Elko County High School and Library building, now home to the Elko County Public Defender's Office.
This location has served our community for more than a century, making it a fitting place to invest in future generations through the planting of new trees.

Helping with this planting were members of both the Rotary Club of Elko and Elko Desert Sunrise Rotary, including Lizz Todd, Pedro Ormaza, and Chris Beardmore. Rotarians Nancy Davila and Walter Fick, both Elko County employees, and Elko County Commissioner Travis Ge**er were especially proud to help add trees to this historic property, creating a lasting investment for future generations.

We enjoyed a fascinating meeting with presentations highlighting both Elko's history and the accomplishments of our local students!

Our own Rotarian, James Glennon, treated us to a reading from his Ghost Tours script, sharing stories from Elko's Prohibition era through the eyes of a ghost. Ghost Tours will resume in October, and tickets can be obtained through the Elko Area Chamber . This popular event has limited availability, so those interested in attending should purchase tickets as soon as they become available.

We also welcomed students from Elko Fbla, who shared information about their club, its growth over the years, and their recent success at the state competition. It was inspiring to hear about the hard work, leadership, and commitment that have helped the chapter achieve such impressive results.

The Rotary Club of Elko is proud to support Elko Fbla as they prepare to attend the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Texas!

Following outstanding performances at the state competition, 12 FBLA students earned the opportunity to advance to the national level. We were honored to contribute to their fundraising efforts and help support these hardworking students as they represent Elko on the national stage.

Celebrating Clean Up Green Up 2026 with our annual service project at Johnny Appleseed Park! 🌳 Members of the Rotary Club of Elko were joined by Rotary Club of Elko Desert Sunrise, Elko County Girl Scouts, and community volunteers to spread fresh bark, stain park structures, and help clean and refresh the park for the families who enjoy it year-round.

A special thank you to the team at Ormaza Construction for donating their time and equipment to distribute the bark throughout the park, making it easier for Rotary and volunteers to do our part in improving this community space.

Projects like these help keep our parks safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for future generations.
