In addition to the produce stolen from various beds (both private families' and the Fish food bank ones), we've noted whole dugup plants and that 20+ of our tomato cages have been reallocated. That's 20 cages we can't loan our gardeners who are just getting started.

We have filed a police report with Elko PD. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to file witness statements. Our report reference is T26000233

In addition to replacing the stolen items we'd like to put in an interim fence with "no trespassing" signs to clearly indicate to the person or people helping themselves to our property and sweated & sworn over produce that they need to buzz off. We get that times are tough, that's why folks are growing their own food at the garden. All extra veggies are being taken to FISH when they haven't been stolen first.

If you aren't a gardener or an authorized volunteer, taking anything other than a photo will NOT be tolerated!

There is a wait list for next growing season if you would like to grow your own produce.

All the beds are tucked in for the night (that aren't cold hardy). Thanks to US National Weather Service Elko NV for the predictive services and keeping us informed.

Cover your crops gardeners!

A frost advisory is in effect from late this evening to Sunday morning as cold temperatures could be between 33 to 36 degrees. Frost conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. If you have animals, take steps and precautions to help from the cold.

Incase anyone is still looking for starts. We've had gardeners successfully plant into mid July and still harvest homegrown deliciousness.

We are deeply saddened to discover that someone tagged the shed at the Community Garden with graffiti. If you have any information please reach out. We know this happened sometime after 2 PM yesterday and 8 PM this evening. We will be going over the church cameras.
