The Two Spirit Gathering in Elko brings together ceremony, culture, art, and community healing across three full days in June 2026. Each morning begins with a sunrise ceremony, grounding participants before a schedule rich with workshops, talks, and creative activities led by Indigenous leaders. Across all three days, the gathering offers space for learning, creativity, visibility, and cultural revitalization.
The first day centers on history, storytelling, and wellness, including sessions on Two Spirit history, the origins of Gay American Indians, awareness, mental health, and a sobriety talking circle. Day two blends movement, arts, and cultural teachings with a 1‑mile awareness walk-run, hands‑on workshops, and a powerful exploration of gender roles before colonization, culminating in a vibrant evening fashion show featuring Native designers and models.
The final day shifts into celebration and intergenerational connection with yoga, handgames, vendors, and a full Two Spirit Powwow—complete with Grand Entry, Tiny Tots through Golden Age categories, intertribal dances, and a closing round dance. Across all three days, the gathering offers space for learning, creativity, visibility, and cultural revitalization.
