A Special Message from your Special Olympics Director:

Here is June’s Calendar.

Thank you to ALL athletes, Volunteers, the Elko County Sheriff’s Department, NHP, and EPD for making our track/field a great event! We hope everyone had fun and enjoyed themselves!

We are now going into BOCCE!
Bocce practice starts on June 10th, every Wednesday, from 3:30p-5p at the Elko City Park. As we enter summer, please bring plenty of water, sunscreen and your own chairs. We want to make sure you all stay hydrated and sun safe!

Also happening in June is the Spring Dance. This is for athletes and volunteers ONLY. Athletes and volunteers are allowed to bring 1 GUEST ONLY. It is casual wear, we will be celebrating our Basketball, Track/Field, and Bocce Seasons! The dance will be 5-7 at the Senior Center. Food and drinks will be provided.

Enjoy your 2 week break and we will see you all on the 10th!

Our annual track and field competition is only 10 days away!🤯

These athletes have trained so hard for the past few weeks and we could not have been more proud of them!! 🥹

This year we want to try and start a tradition of FILL THE STANDS as these athletes rightly deserve it!

Please share with schools, businesses, and the community!

A Special Message from your Special Olympics Director:

Here is May’s Schedule.

As you can see, we are NOT having practice May 8th or 10th! That is Mothers Day weekend and in honor of our hardworking volunteers, who are also Mother’s, we will have a weekend rest!

Also take note, Friday May 15th, practice will be ending at 4:30pm! So all our Friday athletes please make sure you inform your rides of the time change!
The 15th and 17th will be our LAST practice days before competition. Once we receive word on times for that day we will share with you all.

Thank you to the Lamoilles Women’s Club for getting us new track jerseys for all our new friends who are joining! Thank you parents, guardians, friends, family, businesses for all you do to help us continue to grow and succeed!
Most importantly thank you VOLUNTEERS for all your hard work, dedication and TIME put into this! You are APPRECIATED!
And we hope all you Mothers have a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend!

‼️IMPORTANT POLAR PLUNGE INFORMATION‼️
Polar Plunge is being held tomorrow, April 18th, 2026 at The Elko Main City Park. If athletes are wanting to attend, please be there at 10:45am. There will be chili and hot cocoa. If you have any Special Olympics swag, please sport it! Hope to see you there!

track practice on Friday if the High School is stilling having their track meet we will just practice behind the middle school on the grass😊
