Thank you The Madison County Record for sharing information about the War Eagle community events going on this week leading up to War Eagle Appreciation on Saturday at Withrow Springs! We hope you join us for a week of free family fun and stewardship along War Eagle Creek 💙

The 22nd annual War Eagle Appreciation Day is set for Saturday at Withrow Springs State Park with various activities leading up to the main event. Families are invited to explore the War Eagle watershed through education, recreation and interactive activities.

War Eagle Appreciation Day is less than a month away on June 6th at Withrow Springs! Let's celebrate the War Eagle together. The beautiful War Eagle watershed accounts for one third of all water entering Beaver Lake, providing drinking water for one in every five Arkansans. To honor this incredible natural resource and foster long term stewardship, we have a full week of community events leading up to the celebration on June 6th.

The festivities kick off with the Pick Up Where You Paddle clean up from Friday, May 29th through Friday, June 5th. While enjoying the creek, show your appreciation by picking up litter along your route. Drop off and report your trash at OAR War Eagle Kayak and Campground to enter a special raffle drawing at Saturday’s main event.

On Friday evening, June 5th, join us for a free, family friendly War Eagle Movie Night from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Basham Community Center in downtown Huntsville. We are partnering with the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust to screen two local conservation films, “Bridge to War Eagle” and “One Acre at a Time,” celebrating the watershed and the people working to protect its ecological future. Free snacks will be provided.

It all leads to the main event: the 22nd Annual War Eagle Appreciation Day on Saturday, June 6th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Keith Ham Pavilion inside Withrow Springs State Park in Huntsville. This free community gathering features a complimentary lunch grilled by Arvest, raffle prizes, activities for all ages, and interactive educational booths focused on conservation, wildlife, history, and tourism. We will also have live music sponsored by the William Rufus Stephens Jr. Memorial Fund, featuring a special performance by local favorite Double Wide Trailer.

Bring your friends, family, and your love for the outdoors to celebrate community and the importance of the War Eagle watershed. For more information, visit www.beaverwatershedalliance.org/events for more details.
