MossRehab's Camp Independence 2024 Camp Independence offers adults with physical disabilities an interactive virtual week of socializing, games, crafts, yoga, concet, and talent show.

2024 Camp Independence will be held virtual from August 12th to 16th, 2024. A camp serving adults with physical disabilities. Philadelphia Mayor's Commission on People with Disabilities Access Award Winner (2016). Developed by MossRehab's Recreational Therapy Department. Health Mentors are adults of any age who:
Have one or more chronic health condition(s), impairment(s), or disability(ies);
Enjoy interacting with students from all health professions;
Are able to share personal stories about their life experiences, as well as health and wellness goals.

Participants spend time meeting with student teams and sharing their health journey and experience with the health care system. In doing so, they report a sense of pride in helping to education and shape the future healthcare workforce.

There will be water and light refreshments offered.

PGA Pro Golfers certified in assisting persons with disabilities will be present to assist.

All person with disabilities and their family/friends are welcome to attend. Individuals with disabilities are guaranteed to have the opportunity to golf.

Some photos from the last 2 days of Camp Independence--We were action packed with the Scavenger Hunt and Virtual Escape Rooms/Connections on Thursday. On Friday the Girls beat the Guys at Battle of the Sexes, and Campers showed off their skills at the Talent Show before the Awards Ceremony. Have a great rest of your summer. See you next time!
