This afternoon, Stations 3 and 4 (Cheltenham Fire Company), alongside Cheltenham Township EMS, were dispatched to the 400 block of Valley Rd, in the Melrose Park section of our response district, for a reported vehicle accident with entrapment.

Upon arrival, Squad 3 and Squad 4 stabilized the vehicle and safely removed the occupant who was transported by EMS for further evaluation.

Accidents happen under a variety of circumstances. That’s why we train weekly, so our volunteers are prepared to show up and use the tools and techniques needed for a safe resolution to any incident.

Summer is not even officially here, but temps are heating up! As our volunteer firefighters work hard responding to fires, rescues, storm-related electrical fires, or just training with our equipment for all scenarios, it's important for them to stay hydrated, especially as their heavy, insulating gear makes them sweat even more quickly.

𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩!

We’re asking for help from our community to keep our firehouse stocked with bottled water, Gatorade, or similar beverage to keep our firefighters hydrated, fresh, and able to safely respond at a moment’s notice.

Beverages can be dropped off Monday-Friday between the hours of 7am-4pm:

Our doorbell is located at the second door back from the street, midway up the parking lot. Donations can also be left outside this door if you don't see a member of our crew.

This in-kind gift will have an immediate impact for the Elkins Park firefighters through the hot summer months.
