Here's a fun opportunity for a neighbor to offer COPE some volunteer support from home!

We're gearing up for Christmas, and we're seeking a delivery partner to accept deliveries from Amazon and other companies. The Christmas items would need to be held for a while and then delivered to COPE.

This could be a residential address or even a local business with a secure spot for deliveries.

We'd like to see this as a partnership that could continue past the holidays if possible!

We've got the images from Susi Franco Photography and we're excited to roll out some formal recognition for donors and sponsors.

We'd like to share a couple images and thoughts first though. This 🥂 moment says a lot. We wanted to plan an event focused on connection and fun, and this really embodies that intention, doesn't it? We asked ladies from our community to come together on a Saturday morning to raise funds to help their neighbors in need. We asked them to set aside time, get dressed up and show up like the iconic Dolly Parton would.

Not only did ladies show up and make this event a huge success, they were brave enough to be a little silly and vulnerable at the same time. Look at Rhonda and her daughter here. Rhonda went 🍈big🍈 with her outfit. She's a COPE board member, faithful volunteer and trusted supporter of COPE.

It's this type of spirit that lets us know we can be brave in growing our capacity to serve western Douglas County!

We’d love to see all these Elkhorn kids paired with a mentor right away!

There are 11 Elkhorn students waiting for a mentor.

They have already said yes to having someone in their corner.

Now we need 11 adults to say yes to them.

Not someone with all the answers.
Not someone extraordinary.

Someone consistent.

Someone who will show up, listen, remember what matters to them and come back the next week.

That is mentoring.

One student.
One mentor.
One relationship built over time.

Eleven students are waiting. We would love to make that number zero.

We're so grateful for a generous donation from the Green State Foundation!

This has been a really busy summer at COPE, and without community support from neighbors and partners, we wouldn't have been able to keep up.

We love it when a plan comes together! This was our 8th Monday of the new Summer Food for Kids program. We realized many of our families participate in the weekend backpack food programs during the year, but our neighbors don't have access to summer food programs for their kids.

We saw a need, and we met it with a fantastic but super-simple grocery pickup program.
