Happy Veterans Day to all those who served and those still fighting for our country!! My grandpa was SSG Army wwii, great uncle Jimmy was an MP Army in Korea and baby brother is the Airman in the bunch!! These men all loved their country and helped me become the person I am today! The Battleship Texas Foundation has released new photos which show a before and after look of the Texas with her new paint. The old dull, chipped, and rusted paint is gone and now she’s sporting fresh paint which gives her a shiny new look.

Launched in 1912, she served in World War I and World War II, and she’s the last dreadnought in existence in the world.

Following repairs and restoration during her drydock at Pelican Island, she’ll be moved across the harbor where she’ll be docked at the Galveston Wharves between 20th and 21st Streets.
