There is, and always will be, a missing piece in our department and our community. Dan’s passing left a forever hole in our department and also our hearts. We are deeply touched that Marching for the Fallen is honoring Dan in their event this month. The event is a 3-mile memorial march on the Galveston Island Seawall honoring Texas military personnel, law enforcement officers, and firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Marching For the Fallen announcement:
Marching for the Fallen will be honoring Fire Safety Chief Dan Hernandez. The Honor Guard march will begin on September 26 at 6pm starting at the 61st fishing pier, heading east to the 1900 storm statute monument where a small ceremony will be performed in his honor.
