We are so very grateful for community partners like Northface Construction. When we put out a call for help, they are often the first to respond, delivering critical basic needs for youth in our community who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Thank you Northface and Andrew Schell Northface Construction for all that you do for Open Doors for Youth! 💕

Tomorrow night is the Taste of Elk River!🎉 If you haven't purchased tickets yet, you can still get them online or purchase at the door. Proceeds from this event support Open Doors for Youth, so this a fun (and flavorful!) way to raise funds that benefit youth right here in our community!

The TASTE of Elk River is upon us and we can hardly wait to see you this Thursday August 13, 2026 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at the Furniture and Things Even Center. Great food, beverages, entertainment and fun.

What an amazing day! Hundreds of backpacks were distributed to community members at Saturday's Community Backpack Event, along with shoes, fresh produce, and free haircuts! It was wonderful to connect with our neighbors to share information about Open Doors for Youth and the services we provide here in our community.

A big thank you to Main Street Family Services, CAER Food Shelf, The Elk River Boys & Girls Club, and all of the community partners who contributed to making this event happen!

Can you help us restock a few essentials?

We're down to our last bottles of conditioner and bags of chips, and we're completely out of laundry detergent and Kleenex.

If you're heading to the store this week, we'd be so grateful if you picked up an extra item or two for Open Doors for Youth. Every donation helps ensure the youth visiting the center have access to the everyday essentials they need.

A year ago, local high school student Marlee Fehrmann reached out to Open Doors for Youth with an idea for her Girl Scout Gold Award project: redesigning our Clothing Closet to create a more welcoming and streamlined shopping experience for the youth who visit our center.

Over the following months, Marlee developed a new layout, gathered donations, recruited volunteers, and over the past several weeks, brought her vision to life.
The result? A completely transformed Clothing Closet, now featuring a fitting room and a space that is more organized, functional, and welcoming for youth!

We're incredibly grateful for Marlee's vision, dedication, and countless hours of hard work. Thank you, Marlee, for making such a lasting impact on the young people we serve!
