Open Doors for Youth Open Doors for Youth is a drop-in center for youth ages 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. We welcome everyone.

We serve youth in Sherburne, Wright and the surrounding counties. Open Doors for Youth is a drop-in resource center for young people (16-24) who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in Elk River and surrounding communities. We provide for immediate needs, such as food (including a hot meal), clothing, and hygiene products, and assistance with securing employment, schooling, med

ical and mental health services and independent living skills. Our staff and programs are accepting of youth from all walks of life, ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ability, and economic status.

The Next Door opens in July, and thanks to this amazing community, donations have already been rolling in!

We are so grateful for the financial gifts, donated items, and volunteer support that are helping us prepare this new transitional housing program for youth.

As we get closer to opening day, there are still items needed to help turn this house into a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home. From kitchen essentials to bedding and everyday necessities, every donation makes a difference.

The Next Door, Open Doors for Youthโ€™s new transitional housing program, is opening this July, and we could use ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง help getting it ready!

Furnishing and preparing a home is no small task, and there are plenty of ways to jump in and get involved. You can shop our wish lists, lend a hand with home projects, or help us get everything set up in July!

First Friday is back! Join us on May 1 from 2:30โ€“5:30 at the center for an afternoon of creativity and fun. Weโ€™ll be painting and planting flower pots, playing more bingo (yes, prizes!), and enjoying some โ€œdips & sipsโ€ -- all kinds of chips, crackers, tasty dips, and soda.

All youth ages 16โ€“24 are welcome! Come hang out, get creative, and connect. Weโ€™d love to see you there!

A HUGE thank you to Girl Scout Troop 18859 from Elk River/Otsego for their incredible donation of ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿต๐Ÿฌ ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜…๐—ฒ๐˜€ of Girl Scout cookies to Open Doors for Youth! During their visit, the troop toured the drop-in center and saw firsthand the impact their generosity will have on the young people we serve.
