GOOOOOODDDDDD MORRNNNNINNGGGG! I hope you are all having a great summer! Whether you are out on the lake, at home, or camping, make sure you protect yourselves from the dangers of the summer heat and activities! ALWAYS make sure to apply sunscreen every two hours (especially after swimming). Your skin will thank you! Make sure to drink plenty of water! Heat exhaustion can happen very quickly! And speaking of water, if you do get a sunburn, drinking water will help bring moisture back to the skin and will allow the sunburn to heal faster! Make sure if you are out in the woods you wear the appropriate bug repellent and make sure to check for ticks. Everyone on Core Staff hopes you have a great summer and remember, STAY SAFE and HAVE FUN!

Hello everyone! My name is Olivia Koskela, also known as Fawn and I am the new camp director for the Osseo Day Camp! I am very excited to take on this new position! Your girl(s) may know me as the ropes course instructor! I have been attending the camp since I was in 3rd/4th grade. After graduating from high school I decided I still really enjoyed my time at camp and became a volunteer on the core staff. I have held many positions on the core staff from ropes instructor, to Gold unit co-leader, unit leaders, and have helped with meal and snack prep for the past 7 years. Camp has always been something to get excited about, especially when I joined the core staff. I love helping plan the camp and seeing all the campers get excited about what they get to do!
The reason I am posting is I want to keep you all informed on the plans for camp this year. After having many discussions with my co-director and core staff volunteers, we have made the hard decision to post-pone camp for another year. There are many reasons this decision was made and it wasn't all based on covid regulations as there are camps that will be happening in-person this summer. What it comes down to is we want to give our campers an amazing camp and with some of the regulations out there and time restrictions, we felt it would be best to post-pone. I know this is not the news many of you wanted to hear. We on core-staff are saddened that we will miss another summer of camp shenanigans and fun with your girls. But we are looking to next summer already and are beginning our planning NOW! We have many crazy and fun ideas already in the works and we will be starting where we left off for planning for our Extreme Crafting Camp!
Though we will not see your girls at camp, we are excited to see many out and about this summer! Make sure to keep your eyes open for updates on camp on this page and on our general public page. Thank you for always supporting the camp and we hope to see you this summer at Girl Scout events and at camp next summer!
