EGASNKC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded to support the Elk Grove (CA) Animal Shelter's neonatal kitten foster program with foster recruitment, training, supplies, and mentoring.

Please join us at the Pets To Go East birthday celebration, Saturday, June 20th 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. We will have information on how to foster for the Elk Grove Shelter, how to sign up for our free Neonatal Kitten Care Class on June 27th, and we will also have a fantastic face painter at our booth!! Pets To Go East (Waterman/Elk Grove Blvd) will also have fantastic storewide sales so come by and say hi!!!!

Update Sunday June 7th: this event was a huge success for the shelter and 45 dogs and cats found their forever homes yesterday. Thanks to all who came by!!

Hi all, the City of Elk Grove Animal Services shelter today is hosting a big free adoption event and our nonprofit will have a cute table set up with games for kids, a sign up sheet for our June neonatal kitten care classes, and some cute giveaways. Also, my neighbor just started an awesome popcorn business and they will be there from 1-5, see flyer below. And, my other awesome shelter friend is soon opening a dog grooming business at Laguna and Franklin and she will also have a booth there with information about her grand opening. If you have some extra time today, please stop by the event in the shelter’s parking lot and give these vendors some love and support. The shelter can use your support by attending as well. Thank you!!!!

Kitten season is hitting our Elk Grove Animal Shelter hard with over 250 neonate kittens arriving in April and May as orphans or strays. Neonate kittens are those 5 weeks or younger that are not yet weaned so every one of those 250+ kittens were placed in foster homes needing 24/7 care. Our nonprofit organization helped train and mentor many of those amazing fosters and one way we support them is to provide portable incubators and other supplies.

Learn how to take care of neonatal kittens and save a life!! A free class is offered this coming Saturday, May 23rd, 1:00-3:00 pm at the Elk Grove Shelter. We will cover the care of kittens from 1 day old to adoptable age of about 10 weeks so something for everyone!!

Hi all, thank you for following our nonprofit organization’s posts. Are you located near us which would be near Elk Grove CA? We are very busy these days with the start of kitten season coming in full force. There are currently 283 Elk Grove Animal Shelter cats and kittens in foster homes with more coming in every day!

EGASNKC is planning to attend as many public events this summer as possible to recruit more fosters for EGAS as well as get more fosters trained. We are often invited to join EGAS’ booth at some events and we will be setting up our own booth in others.

Kittens are pouring into the shelter and fosters are badly needed! Whether you are an experienced neonatal kitten foster or a newbie, please take our neonatal care class where we will review the shelter’s protocol for neonatal kitten care as well as best practices. We also cover the care of weaning and weaned kittens if that’s your preference.
