During the 2016-2017 school year in November a student experiencing emotional distress was referred to Darcy Knight's counselor office at Elk Grove High School. After talking over some things with the student, Darcy recommends for the student to be taken to the Emergency Room for evaluation. When doing this she gave the student no indication that she was in fear for their safety or that she would get them admitted to a mental hospital. After going to the emergency room and being evaluated this student was put on a 51/50 psych hold and locked up in a mental hospital for no less than 5 days. After the student was released they were able to find out why they were admitted and it turns out Darcy Knight had falsely informed the on staff psychologist in the ER that the student stated they had no control over themselves. I know for a fact that the student never did that because I am that student. I never stated I was not in control of myself but since that's what she told the psychologist, I was admitted. This was the ONLY reason for admission to the hospital listed on discharge papers.
To sum this all up Darcy Knight, who works/worked as a counselor at Elk Grove High School (9800 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624) provided a false statement to a mental health professional that resulted in a student being admitted to a hospital falsely.
