State Commander Paula Jansen attended the Out of the Darkness Walk and the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk in San Diego this weekend, joining others to raise awareness, honor those affected, and support important causes.

While Su***de Prevention Month has ended, the importance of checking in on one another, offering support, and reminding others that they are not alone continues every day. 💜 Together, small acts of support can make a lasting difference in others' lives.

VFWCA Senior Vice Commander John Hernandez joined Post 4618 Commander Raymond Wong and 2010-2011 VFW Department Commander Denis Wells in San Francisco to celebrate Taiwan’s 115th National Day, also known as Double Ten Day.

The event brought the community together in celebration.🤝👏

California Posts in Action!

From connecting with the next generation to showing up for veterans and local communities, VFW Posts across California continue to make an impact!

📚 Post 3787 (Mission Valley) welcomed eighth-grade students from Innovations Academy to interview local veterans.

🤝 Post 10859 (Bakersfield) connected with the community at a local Veterans Stand Down and fall festival.

🎖️ Post 2814 (Atascadero) members proudly served in the color guard during the Pioneer Day parade.

✈️ Post 10125 (Rancho Cordova) represented VFW at the California Capital Airshow, an incredible opportunity to be part of the event!

👏 Thank you to these Posts and their members for continuing to serve veterans and strengthen their communities!

- Recruit a New Life Member into the Post: 10 points

For Quarter 2 the points system will remain the same but the prize is an 8' table drape.

Commander Jansen participated with District 1 in commemorating the 26th anniversary of the USS Cole bombing.

The ceremony honored Seaman Lakiba Palmer and her 16 shipmates who perished on Oct. 13, 2000, surrounded by her mother, family, shipmates, and VFW and American Legion members. Commander Jansen joined District 1 Auxiliary President Mary Vannoy in placing the wreath in remembrance.🇺🇸

VFWCA honors their sacrifice and remains committed to remembering the service members who gave their lives for our nation.
